Steven Hefferan, IALD
Principal
During the past 25 years, Steve has specialized in the design of luminous environments for museum and gallery spaces with the most demanding visual and object preservation criteria. As resident lighting designer for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he not only had the opportunity to safely illuminate art and artifacts of every imaginable object type while working on over 100 special exhibitions and permanent gallery reinstallations, but also acquired a keen awareness of the maintenance needs and limitations of large institutions. This unique experience has led to the design and specification of museum lighting systems that are practical, cost-effective, and offer the flexibility to respond to changing needs and emerging technologies.
